FRESH! Was told about Firehouse by a coworker who raved. Went on a Saturday evening and sadly the place was empty. The restaurant itself is immaculate with a cool "all things firehouse related" motif. I ordered a large "hook and ladder" which was a turkey/ham sub with all the fixin's served warm. My wife had the medium "turkey bacon ranch' sandwich. Both subs were delicious and all ingredients very, very fresh. The staff was very pleasant, attentive, and appeared happy in their work which unfortunately seems rare these days in the service industry. Free fire helmets for the kiddies too!

Stumbled upon this gem with my brother when we were helping my fiance' move, and needed a lunch break. This is an amazing sub shop that is truly unique from your usuals (subway, Cousins, etc). I had the Roast beef, bacon, and cheese sub, and wow it was incredible! My brother loved his as well, although I forgot which one he went with. I loved the hot sauce bar they have set up at the end, with the heat rankings (just went with their barbeque sauce though, which is delicious!). If you want a change of pace in the way of subs, check this place out! Oh, and they also have a large sandwich selection as well! Can't go wrong!

We have been here a few times for dinner. It;s a very nice sub shop, but it just another sub shop to me. On our first visit, I had the New York Steamer. It was flavorful, but the I did expect a sightly bigger portion of meat on the sandwich. The meat was thinly sliced, and for a corned beef and pastrami that just doesn't work for me. I'm a classic New York pastrami on rye with mustard kind of girl. It was just okay and I should have known better than to even order this sandwich. On my second visit, I opted for the Hook & Ladder sandwich. This was a step up, and the thin sliced ham and turkey made much more sense. Again, it was good, but it didn't blow my socks off. They do have a kids menu. The grilled cheese and rice crispy treat were perfect for our 2 year old, and they even have organic mild to drink. We most likely will stop again when we need a quick bite to eat, but honestly my favorite thing is the fancy Coke machine with the 100+ flavors.

Descriptive phrase: premium sub shop. I've been meaning to try out the newest sub sandwich joint on the scene since it opened, and Firehouse Subs did not disappoint. You'll find this one attached to a Culver's, kitty-corner from Fleming's Steakhouse at Brookfield Square. It's fairly open inside, with an almost overwhelming amount of fire fighting decor. But, hey, points for diving in with the theme. My favorite part: a ginormous mural above one wall depicting Elm Grove and Brookfield fire fighters walking away from an old-timey blacksmith. Awesome. On to the food! I got a "Club On a Sub" (normally ~$8, but free if you come in on your birfday!). Came out nice and toasty. These subs seem a bit larger than Subway, maybe closer to Cousins. There was a generous amount of toppings, including turkey, ham, bacon, Monterey Jack, and veggies. Apparently they're also known for having barbecue sauce; there was a station with probably 50 different kinds. I thought my Firehouse Sub was noticeable better than subs at the normal joints; then again, I don't normally order such a "premium" sub. You get what you pay for, but you'll pay more to begin with. Service was extremely friendly, and food came out fast. Firehouse hit all the right notes for me.

I've only eaten at one other Firehouse subs, near Mayfair Mall in Wauatosa, but 4 or 5 times. I assumed I would have a similar experience at this one. I tried ordering online because I was training nearby and needed to get in and out--Firehouse subs is not the quickest place to walk in and order. It says right on the website, go to the sandwich line / maker and tell them you ordered online. I also PAID ONLINE, meaning there was nothing for me to do. I did that and the girl looked at me and asked me to go to the register--I told her I already paid, and she grabbed something and started making it (I was a few minutes early mind you). I sat down waiting, then the guy at the register asked me to come up there. I was like, I paid on line, he started ringing it up and then it came out $0.00 and told me never mind. So if there was a line of 5 deep I would still have to go to the register? What is the point of that? Guys, look at how Which Which works. You go up, tell them you have a sandwich (which must be paid for), and they hand it to you and say THANK YOU. Look at Panera, you order online, walk in the door, find your name, grab the bag and GO. This is either a half baked implementation OR insufficient training. Get it working. Now to the food. Got the New York Steamer, regular size, with double meat. This is the only thing I've ever gotten at my visits at the other location I mentioned. It was hard to chew and rubbery meat. Not sure what the deal was. Previously it was tender and awesome. This was rubbery and somewhat fatty. Don't care about the fatty so much because Corned Beef and Pastrami--that's typical, but it was rubber. I ate half the sandwich and chucked the rest. That's how much it sucked. Not sure what was going on....but I'll stick with the other location.

Stopped here for lunch out of curiosity...was not disappointed. I would say it's a bit like Quiznos, but with much better bread. Also the ability to "add heat" to you food if you're in to that sort of thing.

I had Firehouse Subs in Kansas City. It's like a cross between Quizno's and Famous Dave's minus the photos of the Al Roker looking Famous Dave with six foot tall trophies. Pretty cheap-chips, huge-coke, limp-pickle, average-sandwich-enjoy-your-day kinda place. The service is fast and they call your name out like Starbucks when it's ready. They have one of those year 2025 Coke machines where you can mix and match your own five gallon bucket of soda. They have hot sauces at the counter that are numbered from 1-10 on the hotness schedule. 1 through 5 of course being for pussies who should probably stick to ketchup. They were showing bowling on ESPN on the television here. Bowling. The Indiana Paint Drying Championships not on regular cable eh? I want a PED scandal in bowling. They have plastic fire hats. Pretty cool like Burger King. I saw a grown woman wearing one of these without irony.

I finally remembered to stop in...yeah I always intend to stop in to places, but I just forget. It might be that I am getting old...what was I doing? Oh right, a review! So Firehouse Subs, they really kept to the firehouse theme and inside the dining area seems so sparse. However, I prefer sterile to dingy, so that is ok. Besides it isn't fine dining or a place that you are going to be at for hours. Anyway, the ordering set up is quite awkward as everyone mentioned. And because I pulled a Work BFF (in situations like these she panics and orders the first thing on the menu and regrets it later) I missed the pastrami and corned beef. Doh! Guess I will just have to go back. Anyway the featured sandwich was the pulled pork on a Hawaiian roll. Done. You had me at pulled pork! I had a drink with it...good night it was a bucket, not a cup! I noticed they were promoting Cherry Limeades! Score! Another thing I love! So they tell you how to concoct one, which is pretty spiffy. They have loads of lime slices for your Cherry Limeade. The problem though...the Cherry Limeade is sickeningly sweet. Too sweet, but I felt bad for dumping out a bucket of cherry limeade, so I gulped some down and added some Sprite Zero. Yes, I had lots of time to play with the drink machine because it took quite a long time to get my sandwich. I think they were struggling with a catering order plus a lunch hour rush. I took time to explore the hot sauce selection. They have lovingly ranked how hot each one is so you don't end up playing Russian Roulette. Where is the fun in that? I wanna see some teenage boys daring each other to taste them and one of them gets the hottest one and needs a bucket of Cherry Limeade! Anyway, some of them seemed like they had been sitting there for awhile, so maybe they have lost their potency. Fast forward to a decade later...I kid...or do I? The pulled pork with the Hawaiian roll is fantastic. Didn't care for the fake tasting coleslaw, but it wasn't a deal breaker because most of it fell out, allowing me to be alone with my pulled pork and Hawaiian roll. Make sure you get lots of napkins because it is messy, but worth it.

Good subs but extremely expensive so no 5 stars. Best deal is if you have a coupon. Free sub on your birthday if you give them your email.

Firehouse Subs is a nice option near Brookfield Square! Their subs are fresh, toasty, and have lots of delicious toppings. They do have a few issues--the menu is awkwardly placed, the seating area is kind of cold and sterile, the drink you get with a combo meal is unnecessarily large. But no worries for all of that, I'm still a fan.

What a great place! I found Firehouse Subs by accident and am so glad I did! They use high quality ingredients and I can definitely taste the difference! Friendly service, fun decor and GREAT tasting subs. I also love that they give back to the community by raising funds for local fire stations and EMT's. Gotta love it.

In the world of sub shops we have quite a few. Suburpia, Cousins, Jimmy Johns and even subway. What does Firehouse bring to the table? I did order their brisket and cheddar. I am not sure where the cheddar was. It fact it seemed to be all meat and white squishy sub bread. This was the definition of "meh". You can't taste that the meat was smoked 400 years or whatever. It just tastes like deli meat. Again... did someone forgot the cheese? It would have been nice with peppers and onions. Not sure if that is an option or not... The other order was a Cheese Steak. It was better in comparison. I wasn't blown away. The customer service was what you would expect from a place like this. I have had better service elsewhere. They have a lot of Hot sauce available for you to use which is rated from 1-10. They also have a very large soda machine with a touch screen that gives you a wide variety of options. For the price point I am not feeling it. Evidently there are plans to put quite a number of these in the area. I would recommend you tighten up your customer service expectations and maybe rethink the menu? Really my brisket sandwich was meat and bread. At that point I would rather either go to the deli myself (which i said while i was eating it) or go to a different establishment. Chubby's actually came to mind. Then again Cousins has better offerings as well. Some people are happy to see something different. A change of pace. That is all well and good with proper execution. I just wouldn't try to finagle 30+ locations in as I don't need to be inundated with mediocrity. These things are fixable. That would be great if someone said "Hey they really turned it around here." I don't actually expect that to happen though. I can't in good conscience recommend this at this time.

Work was going here for lunch so I got the large corn beef brisket. This was the longest sub I have ever seen about 20 inches. It is very intimidating at first sight. It was bread, corn beef, provolone cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and onion. It sounded good and was good but I thought it would be more mind blowing. The mustard on a sub was different but worked. I would try other items on the menu but stay away from a large. That a about all I can say about a sub.

It's good. It may be the design of this specific location but the process needs some help. The register for taking your order is the first stop in the process, after a verbal chorus of "welcome to Firehouse!" (Which you am tell some of the employees absolutely hate). The menu board however is about 10 feet to your right. If you've never been here before getting a look at the menu is tough. You order at the cashier and they will bring you the sub. I thought it was all ok. I failed to see a rack of sauces that sit along the front of the counter which are supposed to be for customer use because I went and sat down waiting for my sub to be delivered. They do have one of those super-mixing soda machines that flavor your choices. The beverage receptacle is quite large so that you can take your specialized concoction to go.

So this place opened a little over a week ago. I was a little skeptical at first as we don't really need another chain sub place in the Milwaukee area to supplement what is already on every other street corner, but I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. A little more expensive than your typical subway, it is definitely worth it. Comparable to Quiznos, but seems to be better quality. I don't think you will regret checking it out. I tried their Beef and Cheddar Brisket and the New York Steamer and found both to be very good. Their meat had good flavor, good moisture... definitely leaves you wanting more. I am also a fan of their house hot sauce. Sweet with a little bit of spice, I definitely recommend it. I will definitely be back soon!
